A good friend of mine recently got an Axial Wraith and in the last month or so, we've managed to find a few great places to crawl. The Wraith is surprisingly scale in a lot of ways, despite being modeled after a goofy rock buggy.
Rock crawling is like the "puzzle genre" of the autosports world. It's fun to be able to get a taste of the unique challenge it presents, without having to spend thousands on a full sized rig.
Some video I shot.

My brother is into this, he loves it.

The rigs in that video are all really nice and way more custom than the one my friend has. Badass. I think your brother would be jealous of some of the spots we had in my video though! Good mono-rock is hard to find.

Im into the RC crawling too. My 27T motor is a bit faster than I thought and now I got the taste for faster RCs. Now I want a Traxxas Slash and im not even done with my Wraith :P

I just got a slash a couple of weeks ago! 4x4 brushless, with a 3s lipo, it's properly fast.
My first RC car was a Tamiya 4wd drift car that's like kind of sort of fast, but the slash absolutely annihilates it. The top end on it is just totally nuts, it accelerates from "fast for an RC car" to "Wtf is that thing?!" in like 1 second flat.
The diff is completely open though, sucks for hillclimbs!

I plan on buying the 2WD for gravel and grass racing. Maybe 4x4 if I can get a good price. I'll use my 5000mah 2S lipo and a Proline Silverado body.

i'd be curious to try a 2WD one. I haven't really driven many 2WD RC cars, as all three of mine are 4wd (drifter, rock crawler and slash.)
I feel like it'd be really hard. Everything happens so much faster with RC cars.
